If you are a fan of jazz guitar and have been looking for an instrument to restore your instruments to their original state, you’re in luck.
A new breed of instrument repair is now on the market.
Musica crismiana, or the “horn instrument,” is an instrument made by a Japanese company called Shionomimi that was popular with American jazz musicians.
The instrument is essentially a small bell that can be set to play a tune and then adjusted to play different notes depending on the speed of the musician’s hands.
Its creator, Shionomiya Shioda, is a guitarist who also played trumpet.
Ibanez was the first to make the instrument available in the U.S. and Shionobi has since made instruments for the likes of Frank Sinatra, Eric Clapton, Paul Simon, Stevie Wonder, Thelonious Monk, Buddy Guy and many more.
Here’s a look at the latest instrument repairs and upgrades available on the web.
